Common questions

Where is my portfolio data stored?

Your holdings and financial records are stored on your device. MyGoldFolio does not upload portfolio values, prices, or personal profile data. Optional anonymous usage analytics can be enabled only with explicit consent and can be turned off anytime in Settings → Privacy. The app still fetches live market prices from public APIs.

What Android version do I need?

Android 10 (API 29) or later. The app is built with React Native New Architecture and is optimised for modern Android. Background price alerts require Android 12+ for reliable scheduling via WorkManager.

What currencies are supported?

17 currencies supported: EUR, USD, AED, ARS, AUD, BRL, CAD, CHF, EGP, GBP, INR, MXN, MYR, PLN, QAR, SAR, and TRY. Portfolio data is stored in EUR internally. Display conversion uses the latest available reference rates from ExchangeRate-API, with offline caching. Weight can be shown in grams, troy ounces, or tola.

What happens to my data if I uninstall?

Your data will be deleted with the app | there is no backup server. Before uninstalling, use the Export & Backup section in Settings to save a full JSON backup to your device. You can restore it after reinstalling.

Is the app free?

Yes. MyGoldFolio includes a strong free core with no ads and no subscription. Premium is an optional one-time Lifetime unlock for higher limits and advanced tools.

How accurate are the precious-metal prices?

Informational reference prices use automatic multi-source fallback where coverage is available. Availability and freshness can vary by metal and provider; prices may be delayed or temporarily unavailable and are not suitable for trading decisions. See our Investment Disclaimer.
